Thought I'd support my fellow PR students today and talk to you about an exciting new opportunity being brought to PR professionals all over the country!
The second year students of Southampton Solent University have launched an initiative to create a digital PR textbook, filled with informative chapters written by PR professionals to be launched early 2017!
The idea came to the students when they began feeling frustrated that there were not enough up-to-date, accessible books about how to use digital PR and social media and decided to take matters into their own hands.
The project is being brought to life on a new website, which provides a easy way for PR professionals to bring their contribution to the writing process. The students also plan to use the site to publicise the book and to allow readers to provide feedback.
Mike Maynard, associate lecturer at Solent University is eager for the student's to set to work;
“Even the process of building the site and promoting the project has been tremendously beneficial as they have had the opportunity to work on a real project during the course.”
Contributors who would like to help with the project can visit the Digital PR Book website http://digitalprbook.com/contact-us/ and submit a form of interest.
The students are looking for experts on a range of topics, including digital PR strategy, how to write for digital PR, and chapters covering tips for better digital PR.
I WISH I could submit, what a great idea Solent PR! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for reading,
